~Evangelical Lutheran in the Community ~

Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham is an integral part of the community in Durham Township.   Our doors are open on Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 9:30 AM and worship at 10:30.

Care-A-Lot Preschool has launched hundreds of Durham children on their educational careers, providing them with a firm start with basic skills and a spiritual foundation.  Click here for info about Care-A-Lot Preschool.

What would summer be without Vacation Bible School?  Each year (except during the FLOOD!) Evangelical Lutheran sponsors a VBS program.  Click here for information about this year's VBS.

New last summer was a Day Camp experience brought right here to us in Durham by Bear Creek Camp.  This year, Bear Creek Day Camp will be held in nearby Ferndale, at Saint Luke Lutheran Church.  Click here for more information about Bear Creek Day Camp.

Our Bible Study is open to everyone who wants to deepen their faith and learn more about the foundations of our Christian faith.  The current Bible Study is on Faith and Politics.  Click here for more info about Faith and Politics Bible Study.

Located on the hill above Durham Village, Evangelical Lutheran is a community gathering place during the holidays. Community members are welcome at any time - for Easter Egg Hunts, Live Nativity, Thanksgiving worship, and Christmas carols!

Caring for the hungry is one of the most important missions of Evangelical Lutheran.  Food baskets on the altar each Sunday and the proceeds from our famous Soup Suppers support local food banks - the Lord's Pantry in Ottsville and Project Easton.  Through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we provide support for the hungry, poor, and homeless throughout the world.  Click here for more information about the ELCA in the world.

Each year kids from Evangelical Lutheran participate in Helping Hands Day.  Service projects are carried out throughout Bucks County to help those who cannot quite make it on their own.  For more information about youth activities, click here.

Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham belongs to the Palisades Cluster of Lutheran Churches.  The Lutheran Cluster is active in the community in myriad ways -

  • providing funding for the Palisades High School Baccalaureate Service

  • funding for flood relief and recovery, both here in Palisades and on the Gulf Coast

  • giving hands-on assistance with flood relief, including restoring and rebuilding of flood- damaged homes along the Delaware.

  • bringing artists and performers to the community through spring and fall concert series

Steeple Restoration Project - We invite the community to participate in our fund-raising efforts to restore our historic church steeple that lights the way to God's love.  Click here for information about the Steeple Restoration Project.

We invite and welcome everyone to participate in the activities of
